Chris Gerono

My name is Chris Gerono and every major decision I’ve made for the last 30 years has been based on fly fishing.

I have been lucky enough to have been guiding now for 23 years with 14 of those years as a Fly Fishers International certified casting instructor. During that time I have been guiding for my passions; trout and steelhead. The majority of this guiding has been in Montana (including Yellowstone Park), Idaho and Oregon. Other states I’ve guided in include Colorado, Pennsylvania and of course Alaska. I have been an avid fly tyer my entire fly fishing career, creating fly patterns and a specialty fly tying base with 3 vices for step tying. Along with guiding I’ve been conducting fly fishing retreats, schools and classes. I’ve had the opportunity to fish and hang out with some incredible guides all over the country and I can honestly say that none are better than my buddy Chris. Anyone looking for a guide with immeasurable knowledge, ability and energy will be damn happy they chose a day on the water with Chris. He’ll improve your casting, entomology knowledge and even your disposition. That said, what you’ll enjoy most about fishing with Chris is his positive energy and focus on having a hell of a good time. We hosted two client events with Boise River Guides. Besides how seamless it was to coordinate with Chris, our guides, Jeremy and Thomas, were fabulous. They created unforgettable experiences for several of our clients who were in Boise for a conference and the fishing excursion was a major highlight.
